Do I need a designer?

While a designer is not required to alter your structure, we strongly reccomend you have one! Designers assist in laying out your project on paper to clearly illustrate your project to a builder. It not only helps you to visualize changes and appropriately plan, it saves time and money.

What does it usually cost? Design fees vary by project but usually range between 5% and 10% of the total project cost.

I want to preserve my house/building; are there funds available? The answer to this question is most likely no. While there are grants and tax credits available, projects need to met very strict guidelines to be elegible. Your project should be discussed with a preservation professional to review available options and the appropriate path to move forward.

How can I get my property listed on the State or National Register? Should you wish to list your property voluntarily on the State or National Register, you can contact the appropriate State Historic Preservation Office to learn more. Usually, they require documentation of the building's history and architectural significance. We offer these services to our clients.

I have a building that is in danger; can you help? Our firm works within the best of our ability to help organizations in need. If you have a project that needs immeadiate attention (due to hazard, etc.) please contact us and we will be happy to see how we can move forward.

Can I do my own house history? Absolutely! Our house history services are flexible. We can do it for you, or we can provide oversight to guide you to the right resources. Either way, the end product is usually a fun and exciting report which can be shared with others to demonstrate your building's rich past.
